Connecting a heater core to my one liter geo metro engine. Does anybody have knowledge or photos of where the heater hose inlet and outlet are on this engine? Thanks Mike

Well guys the ice and the temperatures here have provided for some fantastic hovering for the past week. Since last Thur, Saturday is the only day I haven't taken out the hover. It's pretty rare that we have good ice and this much above freezing temps, and being laid off at the moment I couldn't resist.

Well it was a very eventful year, just when I was on the mend after doctors figured out it wasn`t my back that was causing my pain I had grating slip out from under me at work causing stained muscles in my back. Well the good news is I didn`t fall 6 feet into a concrete pit, but it did set me back a couple of months so on with the hovercraft.
So I have tried a few ways to drive the lift fan with varying degrees of success as well as finding out about the vibration problem with the three cylinder geo engine which I think I have got it licked. So here is my first attempt which failed because I didn`t have enough belt between pulleys to allow the belt to twist.

Happy Holidays to All!
Before I head out for the family festivities, I thought I'd share my current issue to see if I can get some insight.
My 14P is "mostly done". I have some smaller tasks that I'm not in a hurry to do since I don't plan on the test flight until spring (need warmth and the trailer to be completed). I've had no problems hovering it but the drive belt has been an issue.
The first problem was the belt was too short. I got a larger belt (cogged) from UH. I was able to install that properly.
On my Initial configuration I had the drive belt on the lower sheave of the engine and the lift belt on the upper. The problem I had was that when I rev'ed the engine, the drive belt would climb to the upper sheave and knock the lift belt off. So, I swapped belt locations so that the drive belt is to the upper sheave. That seemed to work better.
Now I'm being less timid and running the engine faster. The issue I have now is that the drive belt keeps twisting and then eventually coming off the drive sheave. I tightened and it seemed to be better. So, I got bold and topped the engine out at around 2200/2300 RPM. Once again, it twisted and came off the engine drive sheave.
So, a couple questions:
1) What makes the belt twist and/or how do I stop it from twisting?
2) Now that the belt is tighter, I can't get it back on. Any tricks to getting it on that don't require loosening the adjustment/tightening bolts?
Thanks,
Rege

I needed to be able to back my hover out of my garage by myself so I racked my brain and came up with this idea. So far it's worked out great!! Did it the first time on Wigged Out and never had a problem. So what I did is pretty simple, I drilled and tapped a 5/8 fine thread bolt hole into the 1 3/8 inch the thrust prop shaft, then I use a big aluminum backer plate and I crank it down tight with a regular wrench. And you can have the prop off in less than a min !! Then I have a high idle solenoid switch to bump up the throttle and I can push it anywhere I want to by myself.

Well the weather has been absolutely great in Wisconsin. The temps were flirting with 50 deg. today. Awesome! ! Well I decided to take advantage of the weather and take the hover out today. I loaded around noon at the home, everything went super smooth. For the first time I just tried driving it on the trailer, normally I winch it up. Of to the lake. I spent almost two hours puttering around. I would stop and talk to the fisherman and get an idea of what was biting on the lake. Around two I drove back to the landing to load up. I backed the trailer onto the ice and decided to load it like I did earlier. I was about twenty feet behind the trailer so I could get a good run to run up the ramp. Well lets just say things didn't go so well. The point of the hover drove straight into the OSB on the ramp and stopped me dead in my tracks. I slammed forward and crushed the dash with my knees and clothes lined my throat on the windshield. OUCH!!! So I sit here tonight with a bruised throat and a new growly voice. I gotta say it was still a nice day. Here is a short video I took with my phone and a couple pics.

I was wondering, if you wanted to make a 14-P a twin engine craft, what size engines you could use and how much could you get by in weight? I know Universal sell plans for a 13-pt. John

I need to do some repair work to my enclosure and engine cover so I figured I should take it out and see what else might need to be done while I'm at it. It was really a nice day and the ice looked perfect so I called Dave L. and we took a nice spin or 3 around the lake :-)

I can't believe I got charged $3,500 dollars to add 7 ft to a 10 ft wide barn shed to build my hover in. I knew he was charging 60 dollars an hour. I didn't know he was slower than mollases. It still needs to have the vinyl siding put on. I think I'm going to read up on that and tackle it myself come spring. As far as the inside goes I have to do some electrical work and insulate the walls and ceiling. I hope the inside dimensions of 9ft 6in x 18ft will be large enough to build in. John
