TOPIC: HOVERCRAFT

Hey guys its been awhile but I'm back! I'm gonna pull my Hammerhead WIG hover out of storage and finish a few things. Then work on putting wings on it. I've been working on lots of other projects the last few years. Trikes and Teardrop campers. But I got the bug again to fly so hopefully I can finish the project this time.

Check this out on Ebay .Aerodynamic Aluminum Rudder Air Foil Custom Air boat hovercraft Nice rudder material.

It's very nice to see you back Rob. It's been REALLY slow around here for awhile so I'm sure everyone would be glad to see something happening. I really should do some writing myself. I'm working on a new craft now as well - a Prospector powered by a 1.0L Geo.

I had a look at that rudder material on Ebay. I like the idea and it would sure make building a rudder simple. I'm a little confused at the "rudder width" though, they're showing that as "9 inches." What is it for an rc model or something? Maybe it's a typo. Also, looking down on the cross-section view - the cross-section on the stacked up stock material doesn't look like it's the same shape as looking down on the installed rudders. I'm confused!

They are only 9" wide. pretty small but would work on small hovercraft. The end view shows the end caps installed that come with them. by the the website looks great!

I think the idea they have with that stock aluminum rudder material is great - just cut to length! I just wish they made them about twice as wide.

I hate it that this place has been so slow. I sure havn't done my part either. Rob, haven't you built a Universal style hovercraft with the lift fan and engine sitting level and not on the 20 or 30 degree angle like the plans say? I would like to hear how that worked for you.

I haven't had any problems with it. It flys great. Ill post some build pics of it on my Hammerhead WIG page.
