A really COMPLETE hovercraft kit. Print E-mail

This kit has EVERY piece precut to size and ready to assemble, including the skirt. I found it while searching for an adjustable, reversible prop, which this has. A trailer kit also comes with it.

The problem is that it's made in New Zealand. Shipping would be slow and expensive.  The price of the kit is not on the website, and I'll bet it is costly too.  But for those who would like to build a hovercraft that is easy and quick to assemble this could be a good bet.

They just say partially assembled for marketing reasons. You just get the parts
and have to put them together. Their factory is 10 minutes from my house, I see
them all the time.

Regarding fan size & speed, they only have a 28" or
30" fan tops. This is because they are built for low obstacle clearance so
you can get into really tight areas. I've seen them get under bridges that
nobody else can get through, and even drive through culvert pipes. Speed wise
they are way faster than 25. Their cruise speed as listed on their website is
35 mph and maximum speed is around 50 mph. I've been in one at that
speed.

Although expensive, in my experience you won't find a higher quality
machine than a Neoteric. Chris Fitzgerald personally takes each one that comes
out of the factory for it's break-in flight and he is the pickiest guy you'll
ever meet. If there is one thing I've learned from being in this sport for
about 15 years now, you do get what you pay for.

With that said, would I ever
purchase one? Probably not. It just isn't my style. Would I take one if it
landed at my front door? You betcha!

avatar Neoteric actually calls it Partially Assembled, and the cheapest one is over
15K.

They have a very small combination thrust/lift fan. It looks to be only
about three feet in diameter and about a fourth of it is directed into the lift
duct. They have a clam shell brake/thrust reverser that is pretty nice.

They
claim a top speed of only 25 mph. That's pretty slow.

The Hoverworks craft has
a 64" reversible prop and a separate lift fan attached directly to the
engine shaft. They claim 40 mph.

It isn't well known, but Neoteric Hovercraft sells their Hovertreks in kit form
as well. They are literally bolt together - no fabrication at all.
