INTRODUCTION
I am really hooked into this "HOVER" world. I have recently built, and have now gotten most of the bugs out of A UH-14P, "Northern Exposure" here on Builders Corner. My Wife said long ago that she wondered what would be next, I always have to be moving and building. In the past few months it has become clear that there will be a new project, a UH-18SPW. We are going To fly!!!
I expect this to be a long project, i would guess about 2 years. I will start with The power plant. I will be running a Subaru 2.2L EJ22. In fact, I just drove home a 1992 Legacy with only 110,000 miles on it. Runs like a top except for a suspect transmission, noisey as heck, but she made it 100 miles home. This is a fuel injected engine with a fairly simple computer relative to what is on the road today. The challange now is to pull the engine out as well as the complete wiring harness and then strip all the not needed items out of the harness and get the engine to run again out of the car. I really look forward to this, I love the mechanical stuff. I am not a auto guru to say the least, but with all the info that can be found searching, and the help of all the members in this community I am confident I can get it done.
Here she is!!! A Beauty
And what we came for...140 horses of RAW POWER!!!
For the near future I will have ice here in about 2 weeks. I am looking forward to getting the 14P running on that hard, slick service, She will go like the wind. Can't wait |

Good to hear that the hoverbugs have bitten in and won't let go. It can be a hell of a ride once everything is going good. I know what you mean about the ice, although it's been fairly warm yet. Another couple of weeks and she'll get chilly. Talkin snow this weekend. You will really like running on bare ice. Powder can be a real mess though. I always preferred to run the snow after a warm day to let it pack down. Also powder will eat the tips of a fast turning prop or fan. Get some tip tape on your fan if you haven't already.
