Took the 18 out in the back forty today for a lift system test to see how much powder I could run through the lift pulley before she started slipping. Took an amazing amount of powder through with little to no slippage. Worked great here's a link to the vid.

Building/Making the Skirt

At last I have arrived at putting the skirt together and soon will have hover!!  I hope anyway.

The skirt will be made as speced from 18 oz vinyl coated nylon material. This stuff is used for truck tarps and awnings. I got mine from my favorite fabric supplier, Rochford Supply. I ordered 8 running yards. This material is 61+ inches wide.

The Dash

I have all the wiring done now. I can now sit down in the craft, pull the choke closed, turn the key to start, hear her turn over and fire up!! Then I watch the gauges as the oil pressure comes up to 40 psi and the cylinder head temp is on the rise. I squeeze the throttle and the "TinyTach" gives me the RPM reading....WOW, i like it. Do I need those gauges?? NO, but I had to have something on the dash.

Comfort Zone

Now I am getting into the part of the build that puts on the finishing touches. I knew I wanted some sort of upholstery on the seats, and thought I would make up some templates and bring them to a shop to have it done. I was somewhat bothered by this, as I tend to want to do things myself and not have to wait until someone else gets around to it. So...while on a shopping trip with my wife we walked by a fabric store and I was telling her about my thoughts for the hovercraft. She said. "why are you going to pay someone to do the upholstery? you can do that yourself !" Thats all it took and I began to search the internet as to how these things are done. So here is what I came up with...........

Subaru HP Chart? Print E-mail
Subaru
Written by Guy Fichtelman
Wednesday, 10 February 2010

Would anyone have a copy of a hp/rpm chart for a 1986 Subaru EA82T Turbo? If so can you please email it to me at: This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .

I'm really needing this for my current project but I would also like to post it here for future reference.

Thanks,

Guy

UPDATE: I found this chart after lots of searching. It doesn't list a year for the motor but if the highest curve is representing hp like I assume it is, then I would guess that this chart is for a 1987 and older model. The performance for these motors seems to have improved slightly from 87 and later.
