The Home Center Paint Job
Well it has been a time since I have reported on my progress. At long last I got pretty much everything built, fit and running. Then only to take it all apart for finish prep and paint...UGGGH I hate this part!!!

The Hiller Flying Platform is what first got me interested in personal flying machines, which led to my interest in hovercraft. This was invented clear back in the 1950s, using a ducted fan shroud and two counter-rotating propellers. It was steered by the pilot just leaning his body in the direction he wanted to go.

Here's a video of it flying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwhBWxc0SSM&feature=related
Today they even have jet powered ones

Hello,
Today I spent some time working on the heater for Sublime. I knew I wanted some sort of heater because in Wisconsin it's cold more often then warm. I salvaged the heater box and fan from the Metro when I was ripping it down.

It seems to me that combining paragliding with hovercrafts would be a natural next step. It is so much simpler than adding wings. Any hovercraft could be retrofitted to accept a chute. You'd need some strong attach points for the chute and have to figure out a balance system, but that wouldn't be too hard.
I haven't found anyplace on the web where anyone has done it yet. I saw a video of a paragliding car that was all enclosed once, but can't seem to find it on the web now. I did find one of paragliding trikes though. Check this out. Wow!
