Hi guys

Just an update, I need to figure out on this site where to start a log for my build.

My EA 82 is on the bench, cleaned up, together some part off to replace.

Looked into the tubing today and a shop to build it for me.

I think ill be buying foam within the next week or so.

I am committed now, got $500 invested. I know it going to cost more!

but all in fun right?

Dave

avatar I welded a washer inside a piece of pipe then used a hole saw to cut rubber
washers out of some heavy 3/8" mats and stacked them on each side of the
washer till I got the desired thickness which was two rubber washers on each
side.

I had trouble finding the rubber they suggest in our plans. Ultimately, I
used a circle gasket cutter to cut the required diameter from a soft rubber.
That worked really well and is easy to make. Mike

avatar Hay Guys

Just a suggestion I used hockey pucks just put them in the freezer
over night and the next day use a band saw and cut the circle you want and drill
the center hole, a hockey puck has about the same consistency as a motor mount
it works great for me.

Just my nickles worth.

Go to Ger's yellow jacket builders corner and look under Geo engine
frame and go to the bottom of the page and you will see a drawing for the
isolation pads this is what UH uses

avatar Hi

The engine bolts directly onto the engine bearers, bare metal to metal
contact. There ARE rubber bushes installed between the metal framework and the
wooden engine bearers on the craft deck. The assembly is retained in the craft
by four studs which pass through the entire hull and into the plenum chamber.
See Sheet 3 on the UH plans "Rubber Engine Mount" and Sheet 1 "Top
View" Engine and rudder mount.

Hope that this is a help to
you!

No, the stand has rubber mounts instead. Mike

avatar Motor mounts?
Are the subaru (EA 82) motor mounts used on the frame for
18spw?
Not really clear on the print.
